THE PLATFORM was formed in 2009 by a small group of local residents from varied
backgrounds, with one thing in common, their passion for West St Leonards particularly the old bathing pool site. WE have named it after the last remaining platforms of the bathing pool. A PLAQUE will commemorate this.
We want a safe environment for children and adults, increased leisure facilities and café facilities. We have not benefited from the millennium fund.

Our campaigning, talking to residents, doctors, colleges, schools and CHILDREN has proved the following things.

Sustainable Garden for Wildlife
The priority is to enhance the bathing pool site. A low maintenance sea garden of grasses and various sea loving plants and self seeding wild flowers that attract wild life and enhance the surroundings with the perfume.

Exercise
An outdoor gym for all ages. Yoga, tai chi, in a peaceful surrounding, professional instruction.
Water sports non motorised young and old /swimming fishing
The Natural Bathing
Pool/Retractable Cover
This is the jewel in the crown. Beautiful, natural, and what 1900 residents campaigned for in 2007. This will put West St Leonards back on the map but most of all it will give all ages a great healthy life style. It will be lushly planted around the pool giving an air of tropical splendour .

Creative adventure area to include water fountain, kite flying, Punch and Judy, story telling, grow your own flowers, Pebble/sand art, board games, fancy dress competitions. Some weekly supervised groups/clubs working closely with children’s groups.

Low Cost Eco Housing with
Sedum Roofs
Working with specialised architects that produce stylish award winning projects for first time buyers
and retirement houses. This is a government priority. These houses would be on the Old
Stamco /wood yard would not be on the bathing pool site. We already have an award-winning architect in mind.

A black hut with a sedum planted roof - It has the advantage of planning permission& sits well with the beach. Will serve locally sourced food. A stylish creative chef who knows about wild fish cooking, creative presentation.
